Fire pits are fun, first and foremost these are outdoor features you have fun using and having, the fire pit is no exception and as we grow older we upgrade our pits, starting in an early age with the simplest of fire pits and hopefully ending up with a full outdoor kitchen to cook on, with an oven and maybe even a matching sink and fridge. Gas fire pits might seem like luxury, especially if you are the adventurous person, but the truth is that getting a fire pit today is not as big a deal as it was ten or twenty years ago, and the difference is no less than staggering, although it might not be perfect for everyone.

The main advantage to having a gas fire pit is the instant operation, the light and easiness of use and the considerable less cleaning up tasks, for people who love fire pits or any fire related outdoor features going gas is not a bad idea, since it might save a lot of time of cleaning up and doing the old maintenance routines. It should be clear to you that if you never started any kind of pit before you might want to do so before you contemplate gas or wood (or charcoal) fire pit, but for almost everyone the idea is clear, where there is fire there is smoke, and when you got smoke you get dirty.

No much need to go on about this, since most people who reported having problems with starting barbecue and fire pits will give a lot to avoid that situation again, but there is another clear advantage to gas fire pits we should talk about, and that is the relative mess free philosophy of the whole thing, in basic principle you could have zero effect of the fire pit in its surroundings, if you work well and choose to keep your place tidy, that is a real challenge when you talk about a wood or charcoal fire pit, and it makes a lot of difference.

One last thing, even though it might sound like I have a clear preference to using gas it is not really the case, while I do acknowledge the advantages of using a gas fire pit I find myself and many other people I know with a romantic bias towards the plain old fire pit, with its smokey quality, a sense of real fire and hard work, and old time fun, that is something you can not match, not even with technology.
