It's one of the many reasons I recommend blogging to my clients.
Changing the Mindset
To fully understand the mindset here, let's compare this type of conversation with more invasive "in your face" marketing techniques. Let's say you send a marketing email or letter to a total stranger (or call them on the phone) to offer your product / services. That person will not know anything about you, so their guard will go up right away. They will distrust you from the start. Going from that kind of mindset to a sale is a tough hill to climb.
Now compare the "total stranger" approach to the blog marketing strategy I've explained above. For one thing, it turns the tables around in your favor. Instead of contacting people, they are contacting you. They also come into that conversation with a certain level of trust, because they've read enough of your blog to realize you know what you're talking about.
Business blogging can make you more believable as both a person and a professional. If you publish useful information consistently over a period of time, it will showcase your knowledge, your dedication, and even your personality.
