Step 1 Get an Online Presence

You must develop an online presence, whether it be a blog (free), a website that you own, or an auction site. This is a must. Next, You must decide what your core market is going to be, i.e. will you specialize in selling fitness items, electronics, eBooks, etc.... Once you have this done the rest is easy.

Step 2 Affiliate Marketing

Next you must get an account with a company such as Clickbank or Commission Junction. These sites allow you to sell other peoples merchandise and earn a commission on each sale. This way you don't have to develop a product of your own to sell. This alone causes many people to not pursue selling goods online.

Through these sites you choose which products you wish to sell, a link will be developed for you to cut and paste on to your site. When a customer clicks on the link and purchases the product, you get paid, usually through PayPal or via Check by Mail. Visit the sites and read tutorials, they are pretty clear cut.

Step 3 Get Traffic

After you get your site set up, products chosen, and Affiliate accounts set up, its time to get your site seen. This can be done with a Google Adsense campaign or any other Pay Per Click programs out there. The problem with these is they can cost you a great deal of money and provide you with untargeted traffic.

This article is by no means an end all, be all tutorial on making money online. However, it is a pretty good launch pad to learn to make money online. After you visit a couple of the sites listed above you will get the idea. This isn't rocket science and was never meant to be. At the end of the day you are just trying to sell people stuff. Keep it simple, start small, and put the time in. Some people achieve success overnight, whereas others can spend years before they make their first $1,000. Either way, the key is to be patient, educate yourself on the industry and how things work, then put in the time.
